ARTICLE – HERO Challenge One 2023

In addition to promoting and running the popular production car autotests (slaloms), stage rallies and sprints BDCC also assist neighbouring clubs and other motorsports organisations with their events.

Club members are often seen on rally stages and race tracks all over the UK and abroad providing safety marshal cover, event officials and time crew.

Recently HERO – ERA, the classic rally organisation, ran their Hero Challenge 1 that started from Amesbury, taking in some of the well known rallying roads in North Dorset.  The route then headed south over Bulbarrow and down to Bovington all weather track for eight special tests.

BDCC were able to provide all of the equipment, cones and barriers to set up the special tests at Bovington and Club Members looked after many key roles such as time crew and “stop box” marshals.

The Event was a great success with the Bovington tests being the highlight of the day for many competitors.

The rally was won by Simon Arris and Kim Banister in an MGB.
